1. Tell us what you think is the biggest rencontre in hairdressing today other than Covid-19?

I think the biggest rencontre as well as the biggest tool has been social media. There are so many positives that have come from it. We market our work, we’re shown the latest and greatest trends and get new merchantry from it daily. On the flip side the veil has been lifted on our industry. Clients come in equipped with formulas they’ve copied from instagram. They question techniques considering that’s not how their favorite blogger showed them how to cut curtain bangs. It’s definitely been a manna and a curse.

2. What’s the most enjoyable part of your job?

The most enjoyable part of my job has to be the people I work with. I get to hang with my besties all day and they are just so inspiring and motivating. It never feels like work.

3. Why did you segregate the path of hairdressing and was it easy to fall into this work?

I was unchangingly attracted to all things beauty-related. Hairdressing wasn’t something I had considered until I worked as a receptionist in a large salon in my hometown. I noticed the people that worked there all had unconfined style, enjoyed each other’s company, and were making so much money bringing joy to others. I stopped taking my unstipulated education courses without a year at a junior higher I was peekaboo and signed up for eyeful school. I’ve never looked when and it’s been one of the weightier decisions I’ve overly made.

4. If you had not made the visualization to be a hairdresser what would you have been?

I was very interested in rhadamanthine an elementary school teacher. I had such unconfined teachers that really helped form me into who I became as a woman and that was so meaningful to me. It was inspiring to think I could make an impact on a child’s life the way they had impacted my own life.

14. How has Covid-19 reverted your vision on hair industry today?

Covid-19 was devasting to so many families and so many businesses. Fortunately, for my family and I, we were not negatively affected. We launched our merchantry and it gave me the time to really ask myself what I wanted my future in hairstyling to squint like. I think it made our industry come together in support of one flipside and really icon out how to navigate such a crazy time. Hairstylists well-timed to the crazy and never quit. We had online classes, and zoom meetings, and shipped clients verisimilitude kits. I’m so proud to be a part of such a hardworking, persevering group of individuals.
